Westdale Theatre – Revitalization

Built in 1935, the Westdale Theatre is beginning a new and improved life. Located in Hamilton, ON. the restoration of the iconic theatre began in the summer of 2017. Currently nearing the the end of the renovation, the theatre is set to re-open on February 14^th, 2019. The renovated building will feature new washrooms, an expanded snack bar, state-of-the-art projection and sound equipment, and most importantly new theatre seats! But, despite all those improvements, the Westdale Theatre still features the old school feel of the original fully restored Art Deco décor.

In August of 2017 the Westdale Theatre Group began renovation and chose Forum Athletic and Irwin Seating to provide a historic looking yet updated seating option for the theatre. The new installation included 340 – 91.12.119.4 Irwin Millennium chairs, with the 119 cast iron deco ends used to achieve the historic look. The new layout also included a new viewing platform meeting AODA regulations to allow accessibility for those with disabilities. We are truly excited to have been a part of this project and are confident that the residents of Hamilton and Westdale Village will benefit from the theatre for years to come!
