Our featured project for October takes us to the University of Windsor. U of W has a long and storied tradition of excellence in athletics and Forum Athletic is proud to play a part. The project required the supply and installation of ten ceiling mounted backstops at the St. Denis Centre, the home of Lancer Athletics & Recreation.

Built in 1981, the facility includes the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse, featuring a 7 lane 200-metre indoor running/walking track, 4 full basketball courts, 2 practice backstops, 6 badminton courts, and 6 volleyball courts. The St. Denis Centre is also home to alumni outdoor field, fitness centres and studios, a pool, and a multipurpose room. At over 63,00 sq. ft. it’s certainly the hub for all Lancer athletic events and activities.

At 32’ mounting heights the project required us to install our F850-FB front braced units, electric winches, glass backboards, and breakaway goals. The two units required for the main varsity basketball court were also fitted with Daktronics shot clocks to interface with the main overhead scoreboard for university level competition play.

The transformation of the facility looks fantastic!
